The people that make your life harder, will teach you the most valuable lessons

I strongly believe that every team needs a leader who can create a drama free environment. It’s his responsibility to make sure the people of his company get along. It’s a ton of work to promote and instill a healthy culture within the workplace but it’s worth it. Things will never be perfect but as long as you, as a manager, take care of the problems as they occur and teach your team(s) to do the same, you will be a good leader.

“That sounds good in theory, but the reality is different.”

“My boss doesn’t listen to me, always makes me do overtime, he doesn’t pay me enough and I can’t stand him.”

Does this sound like you?

How about you?

Are you the perfect employee who does his job in time, he’s never late, always respectful, is never rude with those around him no matter how annoyed he is because things at home aren’t great?

Ah… now we’re talking.

It’s ok, nobody’s perfect. We can always do better.

“Wait a minute, I thought we were teaming up against my boss.”

Nope. That wasn’t the point. We should all take a long hard look at ourselves before judging someone else. The best thing we can do is to never judge people. Seeing people as they are without expressing any bad opinions about them it opens your mind to get to know the real them. It’s not an useful action and it also frees you from negative thoughts.

We spend a big part of our lives at work. Why would you be miserable?

Really think about it, you had a chance in 400 trillion - after some scientists - to be born. Why on earth would you have to deal with people that make your life harder?

It does put things in perspective, doesn't it?

Plot twist, some people that make your life harder will teach you something useful, if you’re paying attention. They will teach you how to be more patient, understanding, how to spot the wrong people and stay away from them. You will also learn that you can’t help everyone and you can’t change most people. These will be extremely valuable lessons for life.
