Let’s assume you didn’t have a choice and you had to get this job. You aren’t happy about it but it was something that you had to do. Maybe you were in a bad financial situation and for now, it was the only viable option.

I think this is the case these days, unfortunately, people need a job, in some cases, any job.

I’m sure you’re well aware that, when you do something because you have to, you’re not productive and can’t enjoy it. You can’t force other people, or yourself to do a job that you don’t have any interest in.

Here’s the thing, if you set your mind to do something, a job, a chore, anything really and you’re disciplined to push through the bad days, your life will become better. Don’t count on motivation to come and get you to do things. Motivation is fleeting, it comes and goes. Discipline is the habit that’s going to make you successful.

Think about it like this: “It’s just a temporary situation that will take me closer to my goal.” Ignore the bad/negative things around you and stay focused on what you have to do.

“That’s what I’m trying to do, but my colleagues make things hard for me.”

Are you sure the colleagues are the problem and you’re not victimizing yourself?

There are some work environments in which the toxicity can reach pretty high levels which will lead to a ton of problems within an organization. This will have a devastating effect on the productivity of the individuals.

“My boss tries, but he can’t force people to get along.”

That’s also a big problem. You can’t make people do what they don’t want to do. Sometimes, you have to let some people go and then hire the individuals who will bring value to the team and company.
